\u96e8 – AME, TEARS of the EARTH was a live-stream virtual concert broadcast from the historic Hawaii Theatre on May 22, 2021. The concert featured a diverse group of musicians and cultures in a creative and positive response to counter the negativity and hatred occurring at the time. Black Lives Matter, Asian Hate, Anti-Immigration, Global Warming were issues prevalent at the time and which continue today.\u00a0 Performers included: Kenny Endo (taiko), Peter Rockford Espiritu and Tau Dance Theatre (contemporary dance), Todd Yukumoto (sax, flute),\u00a0 Abe Lagrimas Jr (ukulele, vibes, drumset), Sun Hui Hung (erhu), Maureen Kearns (dance), Taiko Center of the Pacific, and the Taiko Center of the Pacific Youth Group. Viewers tuned in live from around the globe and now you can view the concert, too!<\/p>\n
